This $50,000 Floating Jacuzzi Comes With Its Own Fireplace

For those who love boats but hate how they limit direct contact with water—which is essentially what they’re designed to do—a floating jacuzzi might just be the answer. And now, with the launch of Spacruzzi, one could be yours for just about $50,000. Founded in 2021 in Tahoe, California, by entrepreneur Alex Kanwetz, Spacruzzi’s eponymous product sits at the nexus of hot tub and an electric boat and is described as an “electric propulsion, self-heating, self-cleaning hot tub boat that comes complete with a gas-powered fireplace stove.”

The Spacruzzi can cruise for four to five hours on a single charge.

Though there are many yachts or boats that come with hot tubs on board, nearly the entire volume of the Spacruzzi’s teardrop-shaped body is filled with water. The vessel is powered by an electric motor, which provides four to five hours of cruising time depending on speed and other factors. A patent-pending filtration system circulates water throughout the boat, which is warmed by an on-board patent-pending gas fireplace. “Unlike most power boats on the water, our all-electric propulsion and our patent protected electric and propane heating system do not put pollutants into the air or water,” Kanwetz said in a statement.

According to the company, Spacruzzi complies with all US Coast Guard regulations and has been approved to to operate in many heavily regulated bodies of water in the United States. At only 13 feet long and 1,200 pounds, the boat is designed for easy transport and can be launched with a trailer, forklift, gantry, or dockside slip or mooring.

The Spacruzzi is largely customizable, and future owners can make the boat their own by specifying decking, paint, metal, and wood finishes. Additional modifications include shade towers, underwater lights, floating drink caddies, and trailers. All vessels are designed, assembled, and manufactured at the company’s facilities in Nevada and Montana.

In addition to private purchases, the company also operates in a business-to-business model, offering Spacruzzi fleets to boat rental companies and similar organizations. The floating jacuzzi starts at $48,900 but can go up depending on modifications, and construction and delivery can take up to 120 days.
