Canadian crooner Shawn Mendes just picked up a chic new Beverly Grove, Los Angeles pad for $4.6 million, according to Dirt. The contemporary-style abode was first constructed in 1974 but completely rebuilt this year with designs by West Hollywood firm House of Shoor. A mansard rooftop graces the exterior of the 3,880-square-foot abode, which has five bedrooms and six bathrooms across two stories.
Parisian villas were the inspiration for the home’s design, which touts copious amounts of marble, creamy hand-applied plaster, and elaborate stonework. Shades of beige and cream abound. The clean, minimal European aesthetic would not look out of place in a Kardashian home. In the kitchen, an eye-catching island with curved edges is lined with hand-pleated French clay. A nearby custom sliding glass and steel door marries the indoor space with the backyard, which hosts a zero-edge pool and what the listing described as a “cathedral-style” guest house featuring the same custom sliding doors. Sky-high Italian cypress trees line the grassy yard, lending an air of privacy and complementing the European design features found throughout the property.
Other highlights include a sweeping curved staircase, a formal dining room decked out with a modern sputnik-style chandelier and Jeanneret dining chairs in the listing photos, and a small living area replete with a striking floor-to-ceiling white marble fireplace and a curved brown couch. Warm-toned wood and stone tiles line the floors throughout the dwelling.
Mendes, who first rose to fame by posting song covers on the now-defunct video-sharing app Vine, also reportedly maintains a $1.7 million three-bedroom penthouse in downtown Toronto. The “Señorita” singer previously lived with his former girlfriend Camila Cabello in her Hollywood Hills Mediterranean-style home. The couple parted ways near the end of 2021, around the time when Cabello listed the property for $3.95 million.
