Equipped with the right applications, a computer can be of great help in virtually any domain of activity. When it comes to designing and precision, no other tool is as accurate as a computer. Moreover, specialized applications such as AutoCAD give you the possibility to design nearly anything ranging from art, to complex mechanical parts or even buildings.
Suitable for business environments and experienced users
After a decent amount of time spent installing the application on your system, you are ready to fire it up. Thanks to the office suite like interface, all of its features are cleverly organized in categories. At a first look, it looks easy enough to use, but the abundance of features it comes equipped with leaves room for second thoughts.
Create 2D and 3D objects
You can make use of basic geometrical shapes to define your objects, as well as draw custom ones. Needless to say that you can take advantage of a multitude of tools that aim to enhance precision. A grid can be enabled so that you can easily snap elements, as well as adding anchor points to fully customize shapes.
With a little imagination and patience on your behalf, nearly anything can be achieved. Available tools allow you to create 3D objects from scratch and have them fully enhanced with high-quality textures. A powerful navigation pane is put at your disposal so that you can carefully position the camera to get a clearer view of the area of interest.
Various export possibilities
Similar to a modern web browser, each project is displayed in its own tab. This comes in handy, especially for comparison views. Moreover, layouts and layers also play important roles, as it makes objects handling a little easier.
Sine the application is not the easiest to carry around, requiring a slightly sophisticated machine to properly run, there are several export options put at your disposal so that the projects itself can be moved around.
Aside from the application specific format, you can save as an image file of multiple types, PDF, FBX and a few more. Additionally, it can be sent via email, directly printed out on a sheet of paper, or even sent to a 3D printing service, if available.
To end with
All in all, AutoCAD remains one of the top applications used by professionals to achieve great precision with projects of nearly any type. It encourages usage with incredible offers for student licenses so you get acquainted with its abundance of features early on. A lot can be said about what it can and can't do, but the true surprise lies in discovering it step-by-step.

AutoCAD is available for both the Microsoft Windows and Apple macOS platforms.
The desktop version of AutoCAD has some features not found in any of the mobile apps. For example, the Desktop version of AutoCAD can be used to make 2D drawings.
This article provides a comparison between the Desktop version and the other apps. For information on the differences between mobile apps and the web app, see the software home page.
To use AutoCAD you will need:
A computer with at least 4GB of RAM.
A 64-bit operating system, such as Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10, or macOS High Sierra.
Intel Pentium 4 or faster processor
A processor with the x64 instruction set. AutoCAD for Windows requires a processor with SSE4, meaning it has Streaming SIMD Extensions 4, (SSSE4) and x86-64, which are part of the x86-64 instruction set.
Operating system (OS):
Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows 10, or macOS High Sierra.

Additionally, Autodesk provides ‘AutocadScript’, a subset of VBA for the AutoCAD Application. AutocadScript can be used to create AutoCAD applications and extensions as well.
AutoCAD contains a number of programming languages and APIs to access the AutoCAD Application. The Application Programming Interface (API) to use to develop AutoCAD Applications is called AutoLISP. This is a non-object oriented language and, as such, is very verbose in its syntax.
Autodesk also provides Visual LISP, an object-oriented version of AutoLISP. Visual LISP is most commonly used for plugin development. AutoLISP and Visual LISP are similar. However, Visual LISP is a newer programming language.
Autocad also has APIs available in.NET, which can be used in conjunction with the Microsoft Visual Studio C# language. The C# Visual Studio works with the.NET Framework, which is a Microsoft-provided platform for building and distributing Windows-based applications..NET supports C# and Visual Basic.
Third-party languages such as VBA from Microsoft, AppleScript and Python are also available.
AutoCAD has the ability to add user-defined macros to its memory space. As of AutoCAD 2013, AutoCAD supports a programming language called ObjectARX. ObjectARX was developed to be the base for applications that are developed as part of AutoCAD’s “Customization” features. ObjectARX consists of both object-oriented and non-object-oriented code.
In the diagram, the left-hand side of the shape of the table represents an AutoCAD shape (usually a drawing). The right-hand side represents code that could run on a computer. The central part of the shape represents the programming language used. This might be, for example, AutoLISP, Visual LISP or.NET. The programming language is written on top of the Autodesk Application and can create AutoCAD applications.
The large round shape on the left-hand side is the AutoCAD Engine. On the right-hand side is a plugin that has been written to communicate with the Engine. To use the plugin, the plugin needs to be connected to the Engine. There is a communication protocol between the Engine and the plugin, and this protocol

Open the registry file (i.e. “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\Autocad\14.0\Registry File\Keys\LoadRegistryKeys.reg) with a text editor.
Copy all keys and paste them in the.reg file under the OpenTypeKey/SubKeys.
Close the registry file and rename it to “Registry File.”
Run the.reg file using the command “reg import REGFile.reg”
Close the Autocad application and restart.
What do I get?
You’ll have a new “Save” button next to the Open button.
It can be used by right clicking on the shape or text, selecting “Save as,” and choosing “AutoCAD-RAT Keyed” as the file type.
It can be used by double clicking on the Save button as shown below.
I’m having the same issue, having tried many things. If anyone could provide any pointers on what I might need to do to get this working that would be much appreciated.
I have all of the files that are included in the.zip. I can not load the registry file. When I double click on the registry file, it will not allow me to load the.reg file. Any ideas? I have tried many things, including changing the registry file to 32 and 64 bit and it makes no difference.Q:
How can I assign an integer to an object with a boolean property?
I’m trying to make it so that the player can click on an object and if it’s tapped, it sets the isTapped boolean to true. Then, when the player clicks on it again, it’ll set isTapped to false.
In the update method, I’ve tried to set the isTapped integer to 1 but I get a type error saying that ints cannot be assigned to Object types. How can I assign 1 to the isTapped boolean property of a Rectangle object that is stored in a Vector? I’ve tried adding a variable type as an int and then converting it to an Object but I get the same result.
I want to assign it the integer value 1 or anything other than 0. Any ideas?
