Delhi coronavirus cases: The government’s policy think tank, NITI Aayog, has expressed concerns over rising coronavirus cases in Delhi. It has termed as an “unprecedented situation” that has emerged in the national capital which is witnessing a spurt in Covid-19 cases since October 28 when the daily rise breached the 5,000-mark for the first time. On Wednesday, it crossed the 8,000-mark.
Have reached pre-COVID-19 level, Modi government working on another stimulus package: Finance Secretary
Finance Secretary Ajay Bhushan Pandey has indicated that the Modi government is working on another stimulus package, news agency ANI reported. Bhushan said that the government keeps monitoring the situation on the ground to assess which sector of the economy or segment of the population needs what kind of help at which time.
The Haryana Police on Thursday used water cannons and tear gas to disperse a group of farmers from Punjab who allegedly tried to jump police barricades to enter Haryana as part of their ‘Delhi Chalo’ march against the Centre’s new farm laws. The Haryana Police officials at the Shambhu inter-state border with Punjab used loud speakers, asking farmers who had assembled on the Punjab side to disperse when some of them tried to cross and remove the barricades. The situation remained tense at the Shambu inter-state border on the national highway as protesting farmers threw police barricades into the Ghaggar river. Some of the protestors were also seen waving black flags.
