Aryan Khan sent to jail: Video of Gauri Khan breaking down goes viral | Hindi Movie News

After a court refused him bail in a drug seizure case, Aryan Khan, the son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and ace interior designer Gauri Khan, was sent to the Arthur Road prison in Mumbai on Friday.

Along with him, the other men arrested in the case were also sent to the same jail, while two women accused including Munmun Dhamecha were sent to Byculla women’s prison, a police official said in a statement to PTI.

Following the court’s ruling, a video of Gauri crying in her car went viral on the internet. The video saw Aryan keeping calm as he was being taken away in a police car. Gauri, on the other hand, was curled up in the back seat shielding her face with her hand as the cameras recorded her reaction to the judgment.

Friday, October 8 also marked Gauri’s birthday. The mother of three, who has been closely following the case and pushing all legal ways to get her eldest son out of jail, has also been receiving support from her friends from the industry.

More voices in Bollywood, including filmmaker Zoya Akhtar, comedian Johnny Lever and actor Raveena Tandon, spoke out on Friday to express solidarity with the power couple and sent them their love and strength in these trying times.

As news of his bail being rejected came in, groups of fans stood in vigil outside the Khan residence Mannat in Bandra.

Akhtar took to Instagram Stories to wish her friend Gauri strength on her 51st birthday and wrote, “Happy Birthday Gauri. May you stay strong, stay brave, stay you.”

Earlier in the day, filmmaker Farah Khan, Shah Rukh’s frequent collaborator and good friend praised Gauri for holding her ground amid the crisis. “The strength of a mother is second to none! The prayers of a parent can move mountains & part seas… HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the strongest mother and woman I’ve personally witnessed this past week… @gaurikhan here’s wishing you the best birthday present today,” the director-choreographer wrote.

On Friday, a Mumbai court rejected Aryan’s bail plea and sent him along with others to 14 days in judicial custody after their NCB remand ended. Aryan is likely to spend the weekend in quarantine cells of the two prisons as the Sessions Court.

They will also not get any special treatment inside the prison, sources told PTI.
